The hotel building was the Counts of Altamira's old residence, an old and influential noble family. The palace was placed at the very heart of Santiago de Compostela and its gardens covered what today is known by the Plaza de Abastos, the town's market and spread out from San Félix de Solovio's church to the alleyway that leads to San Agustín's square. During the XIXth Century the building was almost totally demolished to relocate the actual town's market.

The current project for the building's restoration, has been executed by the arquitecture studio, Creus and Carrasco. They have created a small 17 room hotel in a privileged location inside Santiago de Compostela's old town. It's located just by the Plaza de Abastos and San Agustin's church, just 50 metres away from such emblematic squares as Cervantes or the main shopping street in the old town.

Even the hotel logo is inspired by the Osorio-Moscoso's family -Counts of Altamira- coat of arms, due to our respect for the building's history. This consists of a wolf surrounded by 5 circles representing the 5 rooms per storey the building has at the moment.
